I’m going to write a line by line analysis about the Fjord and Jester scene from last night. I had a bad day earlier this week, and the whole episode yesterday made me so happy, and this scene was beautiful, so I’m going to gush about it a bit. This whole episode really turned my week around (with the caveat that I went to bed so missed the final monster introduction.)

First of all, to set the scene, Jester has been struggling (but playing it off) ever since the spell stole a few years of her life earlier in the day. Fjord has been struggling because he realizes he didn’t even try to do anything to protect her, and the spell took a lot, and it could have been so much worse. He goes to her door, I think, mostly to confess that he feels badly that he wasn’t there for her and also vaguely aware that he might share his fear that they might not get that chance to deal with his baggage.

Was thinking about The Kiss today….fjorjester so sweet….so good. And I was thinking about how neither of them have really had this before, this kind of Feeling. And I thought, ‘oh, they’re just babies’ but like…Fjord isn’t.

It’s Jester’s second kiss. But Fjord has been out in the world for too long, really, longer than he should have been. The only sexual relationship we see him in on screen is manipulative (from both sides) and extremely unhealthy. From the way he talks about his past relationships, if he had any, they were short and not emotionally charged.

And now he has this…this riptide that Jester made, pulling him out away from the safety of the shore. So now he’s not resisting, now he’s leaning in and asking for a kiss. And in a way, it’s his first kiss as well. Not the physical act, but the meaning of it. That overwhelming tenderness.

u know, it’s taken a bit for Fjorjester to grow on me again but I know what? Kudos to Travis for that bit. I said like a year ago I didn’t want any of that kiss-and-run (or pass out, as it were) nonsense of c1. If ur gonna kiss the girl, a) ask first and b) stand ur ground and own it! And Fjord delivered! Incredibly pleased and just so taken by both of them is this scene. So heartfelt and so well done <3

not controversial hot take but as a poly shipper I was already down for Fjorjester cause laura and travis already have chemistry being married and their characters have cute dynamic too, and seeing Travis’ FACE after the kiss just… confirmed it.  Love is real wow get you a partner that will roleplay a pining crush on you for 118 episodes of a dnd show in front of all your friends.
